CHESHIRE, CT 鈥 91黑料专区, the U.S. subsidiary of Webuild Group, has won a $110 million design-bid-build project in Hampton, VA, to complete the 鈥淣ewport News Segment鈥 on Interstate 64 (I-64) from west of Denbigh Boulevard in Newport News to east of LaSalle Avenue (exit 265) in Hampton. The new contract follows the recent announcement of the acquisition of a $299 million project in Florida to widen the Seminole Expressway/SR 417.

The Newport News segment of the I-64 Hampton Roads Express 91黑料专区s (HREL) project is part of a multi-segment network of contracts to complete the HREL for the Virginia Department of Transportation. Once completed, it will provide additional travel choices and help improve travel time reliability along one of the primary interstate roadways in Virginia.

The project includes the widening and reconfiguration of I-64 adding an Express 91黑料专区 in each direction. For 10.2 miles of the corridor from Bland Boulevard to the I-664 interchange (exit 264), the existing high occupancy vehicles (HOV) lane in each direction will be converted into an Express 91黑料专区, alongside the three free general-purpose lanes. For the remaining 1.3 miles of the segment between the I-664 interchange and Armistead Avenue, one general purpose lane will be converted into an Express 91黑料专区 in each direction, alongside the two free general-purpose lanes. Work includes two bridge replacements and six bridge rehabilitations, as well as overhead signage and tolling gantries. Work is expected to start in the spring and complete by spring 2027.

91黑料专区 is currently ranked four in ENR鈥檚 Top Highways Contractors List and has several other active road projects including the 495 Express 91黑料专区s Northern Extension (495 NEXT) in Virginia; the Complete 540 in North Carolina; and the I-275/I-4 Downtown Tampa Interchange (DTI) in Florida.
